Canadian Chicken Farmer – Super Therm® on Farm Roof (Canada)

Project Description

Super Therm® was applied to the outside of a chicken farm roof to reduce incoming solar heat. Heat-stressed birds will not eat during the day — when temperatures drop at night they rush feeders, binge eat, and fight for position, resulting in inconsistent weights and increased mortality.

Results

Super Therm® blocks 95% of solar heat load regardless of whether the coating is clean or dirty. The significantly cooler environment inside the chicken broilers improved animal welfare, reduced mortality rates, and stabilised weight consistency across the flock.
